Certification Process

To become a certified Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® teacher, you must:

  • Take the two-day Teacher Training Workshop.
  • Ensure that your agency is a member of The National Parent-Child Mother Goose Program®.
  • Complete the Registration for Teacher Self Evaluation and Certification form.
  • Teach at least 30 program sessions alongside either a certified teacher or one who has taken the Teacher Training Workshop and is also pursuing certification.
  • Submit Self-Evaluation forms at the end of every 10 weeks for 30 weeks.
  • Complete and submit a one-page Reflection in your own words that summarizes your 30 week experience: challenges, joys, what your learned, etc.

To become a teacher in the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program®, a two day Teacher Training Workshop will need to be completed.

The two day Teacher Training Workshop covers:

  • The background and philosophy of the program
  • How a session is organized (Infant and Two-to-Four)
  • How to reach a target audience of participants
  • How to use and teach rhymes and songs
  • How to observe interactions and respond based on your observations
  • The basics of storytelling

All Teacher Training Workshops are organized through The National Parent-Child Mother Goose Program®.
